Filmmakers Honored at Golden Cinematography Awards

Actor Ha Jung-woo of “The Chaser” and actress Park Jin-hee of “Shadows in the Palace” were awarded the best performers of the year at the 31st Golden Cinematography Awards held Tuesday evening. Recipients of the Golden Cinematography Awards are selected by directors of photography.

Other winners included Jung Jin-young and Su Ae, who won the most popular actor and actress awards. The new actor award was shared by Daniel Henney of “My Father” and Jin Gu of “Epitaph.” Two actresses were named the year’s best new actress – Han Ye-seul of “Gold Digger Miss Shin” and Lee Yeon-hee of “M.”

The Grand Prize was awarded to Life Film’s “Happiness,” a melodramatic tearjerker starring Hwang Jeong-min and Im Soo-jeong. Director Na Hong-jin was again applauded for his work in “The Chaser” with another best new director’s award.
