Yubari invites Dachimawa Lee and The Chaser

The 20th Yubari International Film Festival selected the Korean films Dachimawa Lee, The Chaser, and the short film Mister Bending Meosin. . . . .
NA Hong-jin’s The Chaser features in the Official program. . . . .
Yubari 2009 will open on 26 February and close on 2 March.

Actress Lim Soojung, Ha Jungwoo, and Jung Kyungho came out from their previous company Sidus HQ, and are now under a new company altogether.
According to NOA on the 6th, 9 stars including Lim Soojung, Ha Jungwoo, Jung Kyungho, Yoo Hajun, Cho Yoonhee, Kim Soeun, Yoon Seungah, Lee Ahjin, and Lee Eunwoo belong to their company now.
NOA Entertainment was established in October 2008 and is sponsored by iHQ, the headquarter of Sidus HQ, and through active cooperation the company will set a new management system so that their actors and actresses can make the most out of their characteristics.
NOA says, “NOA means Network of Asia, and the company is making efforts to develop their managing skills not only in Korea but also in Asia.”
Ha JW and Ha Ji Won have been most productive Korean actor/actress in last 5 years ( 2003-2008 ). Ha has played leading or supporting roles in 9 released films since 2003. In addition, 3 films are waiting to release or in production. Meanwhile, he has appeared 2 TV dramas and 5 films titled special starring or cameo.
Except for cameo appearance, he did about 3 works per year. There were not only art films such as Time, Breath by Kim Ki Duk but also Korean box office hit, The Chaser. This shows it is not a coincidence that he is named “blue chip in Korean film industry” with great acting skill and popularity.

Best Actor Award and Popularity Award went to Kim Yoon Seok for The Chaser. The Chaser won 6 awards including Best Film, Best Director, Best Cinematography and Best Production.
Ha could not attend Dae Jong Film Awards 2008 since he should be in Japan for filming of Boat.
But, Ha appeared on video to introduce The Chaser as Best Film Award nomineee.
Ha JW and Kim Hye Soo were voted as No.1 man and woman of “The most beautiful face”, according to recent survey of 52 top Korean photographers and photojournalists by Korean film magazine “Movieweek”.
