. . . . . Jo could be simply characterised as a buffoon, but Ha plays him with such ease, nuance and charisma that it is hard to resist. . . . .

Ang Lee to speak at Asian film festival
Korean-language films might take center stage at the 27th San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival, making up both the opening and closing nights, but there’s also the world premiere of a local filmmaker’s latest musical, an Oscar-winning director discussing his technique and a career retrospective of an internationally recognized master of horror and suspense.
The festival, the signature event of the Center for Asian American Media, opens March 12 at the Castro with Lee Yoon-ki’s “My Dear Enemy,” about old lovers sharing a wild night in Seoul and starring Cannes best actress award winner (for 2007’s “Secret Sunshine”) Jeon Do-yeon. . . . .

Q : Tell us something about Ha JW as a manager being always with him.
He is a literally “free spirit”. He is free and open minded person at both daily life and working.
And he changes drastically at each film. For instance, he did not say a sentence in The Chaser set, but he was ambiance maker in Beastie Boys and My Dear Enemy set . . . . .
Lee Sang Hoon is a manager of Ha JW and Jeon Do Yeon. His appearance is unique a little bit
. Article said that he resembles the doctor in famous Japan cartoon, ”Atom”. Lee revealed episodes happened thanks to his unique appearance. When he went to Cannes with JW, France reporter gave Lee a name card to regard him as director. And foreign press regarded him as designer and asked him a interview at fashion show.
Ha JW and Ha Ji Won have been most productive Korean actor/actress in last 5 years ( 2003-2008 ). Ha has played leading or supporting roles in 9 released films since 2003. In addition, 3 films are waiting to release or in production. Meanwhile, he has appeared 2 TV dramas and 5 films titled special starring or cameo.
Except for cameo appearance, he did about 3 works per year. There were not only art films such as Time, Breath by Kim Ki Duk but also Korean box office hit, The Chaser. This shows it is not a coincidence that he is named “blue chip in Korean film industry” with great acting skill and popularity.

My Dear Enemy
. . . . . Best described as a Seoul road movie, in which two ex-partners reacquaint themselves while driving around the city on a personal mission, pic rides smoothly on the chemistry between its two leads, Cannes laureate Jeon Do-yeon (“Secret Sunshine”) and Ha Jeong-woo (“The Chaser”). Though local biz was poor in late September, this is classy fest fare with theatrical potential among upscale Western auds. . . . . .
Ha, so creepy as the wily killer in “The Chaser,” is almost unrecognizable here as the devil-may-care Byeong-woo, but does manage to hint at layers beneath the surface. . . . .
